MISSION STATEMENT

Provide vicarious enjoyment of our nation and its unique sporting events, their history, culture, and fandom, through original media content.

THE STORY

Both Jackie and Mark have coveted the idea of traveling as part of their career. The couple has traveled and lived in Europe together and while they have loved their experiences abroad, they came to the realization that they were neglecting their very own country. With 50 states, as different as the people living inside of them, there’s so much to learn and experience. What better way to explore it than through a road trip?

Their passion for sports and meeting new people drove them to their plan—for the next year they will attend and/or participate in unique and quintessential competitive sporting events across the contiguous United States. They chronicle their observations as fans, participants, and as a young married couple through writing, photography, and video as they travel across this vast country.

They aren’t retirees or millionaires. They’re a Couple of Sports, challenging adulthood norms, opening themselves up to adventure, and creating an experience of a lifetime.

Jackie

Jackie began her adventurous traveling career when she participated in a French exchange student program, sending her to France for nearly a month, sans-parents, at age ten! Since then, she has been trying to travel anywhere and everywhere. A newly accomplished triathlete, Jackie is a fan of Olympic Swimming, Michigan Football, and obscure and unique sports. Jackie holds bachelor’s degrees from the University of Michigan in Communication Studies and Sociology and earned her Masters in Education from Loyola Marymount University.

Mark

Mark grew up in Pasadena, CA, playing year round organized sports from kindergarten until college. After earning his degree from the University of Michigan in Communication Studies, Mark returned to Los Angeles where he became the organizer of sports, working for a non-profit agency implementing and directing youth sports leagues. In his spare time, Mark also ran his own adult sports leagues and with his encyclopedic knowledge of sports, literature, and movies, was a key player on his competitive trivia team.
