Boise St. Football Game Preview

When: October 22nd 2011

What: The Boise St. Broncos, currently ranked 5th in all polls, take on the Air Force Falcons in a classic Mountain West Conference match-up.

Where: Broncos Stadium, Boise, ID.  Opened in 1970, this 33,500 stadium is famous (or infamous) for its blue field turf, added in 1986. The stadium is on it’s third version of blue turf, and is the only blue turf in the world. Broncos Stadium is also host to the annual Humanitarian Bowl.

Why: Boise St. has gained notoriety in recent years as the most successful “mid-major” program, and has fueled discussions about the BCS system used in college football. Their success in recent bowl games has fueled the playoffs argument, and they are in nearly every conference realignment discussion. We’re excited to not only see the “Smurf Turf”, but also see for ourselves whether or not the Broncos are deserving of elite college football status.
