Couple of Sports, Playlist

Playlist: Washington

Verbose as we are, there is no way we can spend the next year constantly yelling talking to each other. Terrible as it may sound to the ears of an outsider, singing as loudly as possible is a frequent occurrence in The Highland Flinger (THF). We will make a playlist of what we’re slappin’ the air bass to. Each list will contain songs from artists/bands from the state or will allude to the state in some way.

1. Jimi Hendrix- The Wind Cries Mary
Move over rover, and let Jimi take over.

2. Pearl Jam – Black
Mark’s favorite Pearl Jam tune.

3. James Otto- Just Got Started Lovin’ You
I mean, who doesn’t like a country song in between two grunge songs?

4. Nirvana – Lithium
You knew it was coming…

5. Heart – Barracuda
Easily the greatest song of all time. Ever.

6. Death Cab for Cutie – You Are A Tourist
Did our cameras and fanny packs give us away?

7. Foo Fighters – Big Me
Amazing music video. By the way, remember when MTV played music videos?

8. Soundgarden- Spoonman
Listen closely to hear the drummer play pots and pans on the song.

9. Presidents of the United States of America – Peaches
Quick lesson: Peaches come in a can. They were put there by a man. In a factory downtown.
The end.

10. Jimi Hendrix – Bold As Love
Be sure to visit the Jimi Hendrix statue when you’re in Seattle.

11. United State of Electronica – Open Your Eyes
Always crucial when driving and listening to music.

12. Sir Mix-A-Lot- Baby Got Back
A lot happening in 1992 in Seattle. But come on, tell me one grunge song you’ve heard more times than this classic.

13. Daphne Loves Derby – Stranger You and I
Daphne loves the city of Derby? The Kentucky Derby? Derby hats? We must know!

14. Modest Mouse – Float On
Even better than the song itself, is the fact that Mark has mastered this song on expert on Rock Band!

15. Pearl Jam – Even Flow
Sometimes, after a long drive, it feels like we’re resting our heads on pillows made of concrete.
